Intermission

Hello Fellow Occupants,

Diane is here, and I’m enjoyably occupied playing The Experienced N.Z. Guide (and discovering cool new things to do here, thanks to her interests, like wine tasting and visiting hot springs). We’re seeing both islands in one month, a whirlwind trip, so I’m going to (probably) take a break from blogging and catch up with you after she leaves.

In the mean time, here are some photos from the trip so far with Diane.

Back soon. Hope you all are well.

Hey, I like this intermission music. I'll take this opportunity to go get a bucket of Rat King Delite. Untangling the tails, for better dipping in the special sauce, is the best part!
Hey--KATE, if ya read this--I answered yer last question in the comments of the previous post. ALSO- you might wanna have a look at
http://www.reverbnation.com/chotchke
---as some of yer music is going in there.

Hey Jonathan & Diane -
the pics are great, looks like you guys are having some fun.
And the long delay between posts implies the same... where are you guys now?
I did some work on Molemen & I Like To Fall ... boy does that need work heehee. I may have to get brutal and creative to pull that one together.

Drew -- great job on the Chotchke page - thanks for putting it up. Something I've been meaning to do for ages.
It was nice to see the old pics - post more if you have them, I've never seen any of them.

Hi Jon, it's good to hear from you. Been thinking about you a lot.

You're quite right, we've been having a great time. We're on the last few days of our travels together. We're at Taupo, up in the inland high country of the north island- a place I'ver never seen. Magnificant snowy mountains, obviously volcanic, ascending from desert-y scubby rolling hils, all at a high elevation.

But we're just passing through. Tomorrow we descend to the Bay of Plenty, to stay with Dean and Anj- one night- then two nights at Raglan (in the hoity-toity unit, not the Grapes of Wrath room I was in before), then- pfft! Off she goes. You can call Diane the middle of next week and get her story. My take will be on here soon.

I'm so curious about how you're doing. I'll phone you soon.

J.

Ah yes - I remember Taupo. A beautiful place indeed.
Our trip up there was somewhat clouded by a rapidly falling gas guage. We were quite happy to find a BP station at the base of the hill as we came coasting down on fumes.

Talk to you soon.

This is totally unrelated to your blog, but it's too cool not to share.

Hi everyone! Hope your summer is coming along well.
And a special 'Howdy' to JON-
thanks loads for the feedback on the Chotchke page!
I can see already that it's getting a bit of traffic.
Hoo, boy, if it's pictures ye be wantin'---they're ALL up (as of tonight) on my ongoing autobioblog thingy, where I just posted the exhaustive ( and hopefully fairly accurate) history of Chotchke, and the years prior to that as well.
Jonathan was after me to git going on it, and now I'm well into this family history, altho I still have to cover 1914 through 1990, that section has yet to be uploaded...ugh, the work!
Anyhoo-here's the page
http://mindwrecker.blogspot.com/
it's in there under "The Chotchke Years"

Keep your pants on. Diane left yesterday and I have all weekend to write text for the 1500 photos we took collectively.

And you've ensured what the first picture of that entry will be, Brother.

(thanks for the expression of interest, btw)
