Dear Friends,
Sorry to leave you wandering blindly in the dark, troubled by noxious odors and frightened by faint sounds of- what are those, crying babies? Overblown clarinets?). Three things have happened that have cut deeply into my bloggin' time:
1) I got better, and have been surfing everyday.
2) I've begun working- I clean the large communal kitchen... at six am.
3) My camera broke.
The first two developments sap my energy and wit; my will to blog is mashed, blunted. The third has hamstrung the fleet appeal of sharing images and text together; the very heart and soul of blogging, if you ask me. It's frustrating and I don't feel inspired to simply yak at you.
So until I buy a new camera, Pretty Vacation will be on vacation. If you want to read prose-only entries, just let me know. I'd just die without comments (and *cowboys*, that's an in-joke for Gregory, hi pal!), so feel free to do so.
By the way, I'm having a good time and it's been very pretty here.

One word is worth a thousand pictures. Keep blogging, even without pictures.

OK.
(I'll give you a few days to get through all that)
Hmmm, glad I checked in, I'm actually glad that I didn't miss a lot, as I've lost a week to the flu- and a damned virulent bugger, too! And I second that emotion--yes, keep on blogging sans pictures if you feel like it--luckily you're good enough with words that that'll be fine! I also recommend a trick to pump up the visuals in times like these (I'm lucky to have an awesome digital camera meself-that someone gave me after their dog chewed on it and "broke" it) -- just do Google Image-Searches on peculiar ideas, whatever comes up, and then right-click on the image (you may know how to do this already, sorry if I'm feeding you stupid info), and select, I think it's, "Save Image As", onto your desktop, and just "borrow" any illustrations that may apply. Some pretty fun things come up that way. Lot's of folks (like me) put up gobs of high-grade pics begging for (mis)use.
By the way, I just loaded-up a tour of my upstairs bedroom/studio onto the Mindwrecker Blog, see ya next time.
Hi Drew,
Sorry to hear you've been ill, and glad to hear you're feeling better. Nice blog entry too (yours, fella).
Thanks for the tip about grabbing images. I have the application "Grab", too. Feels a bit like cheating, but whatt can you do?
Anybody have any recommendations or sources of information for a good, cheap digital camera?
In the meantime, I'll get to it. Prose blog coming soon.

Check out the Canon Powershot A570 or A80.

Thanks Julian!

If you just want pictures to note an event or visual oddity, does your cell phone take photos? The quality might not be good enough for your blog, but you'd have a keepsake.

Oooh---I love my CANON POWERSHOT..! ha ha...seriously, I can recommend it, it works and all.
And yes, it IS cheating to use the "Grab-Sac" function, you must never do that.
PS, I posted a brief answer to you question about Casa Robo, back in Mindwrecker-land.
Thanks for the camera tips- the canon looks good & cheap, it shall be so, then.
Janet, my phone doesn't take pictures. It does play the "Mexican Hat Dance", though, so I'm not complaining.
Will check your blog directly, Mr Dobbs.
